Chris Woodcock
Chris has been actively involved in outdoor pursuits like climbing, walking and sea kayaking for many years now and even works in this field. His choice of landscape photography has grown out of this love of journeying in Britain’s wild places. Chris takes inspiration from the likes of Joe Cornish and Colin Prior, who make full use of the seasons and natural light to capture breathtaking pictures of some of the most beautiful scenery the country has to offer. As well as trying to create an empathy and emotive response to the land through photography. Based in the South Lakes naturally much of the work is from here, however there are images from Scotland and even Germany in amongst the collection and in time as he continues to travel more photos will emerge.
Chris uses a DSLR to capture his photos and processes them first through a RAW converter then imports them to photoshop. The ever present dust spots are removed then the contrast and levels are adjusted. Aside from stitching images together to create panoramas this is the extent of Photoshop work that occurs with these photos. Recently Chris’s work has been exhibited and sold through a local gallery.
